Road Tripping to Pierogi Fest & Meeting the Buscia's Buns Crew! 🥟

Darren and I loaded up the car in Cleveland and hit the road for Pierogi Fest in Whiting, Indiana. I've been following Sarah over at Buscia's Buns (@lovebuscias) for a while now, so I wanted to hand-deliver a custom bun crown right to her booth. (I designed it to match her cute red bow headbands!) You can check out my original post about the trip here.

The Ultimate Road Trip Survival

If you think your week was stressful, talk to Sarah. Her food truck came all the way from Miami, blew two tires (which actually ripped a hole in the floor), and had the generator go out. Despite all that chaos, she is so down-to-earth, fun, and sweet.

I brought her the custom crown, a stress-ball bun to help with the post-breakdown nerves, and a Pierogi Fork magnet for the "Bun Mobile" fridge. I was definitely nervous to meet her at first, but she wasn't scary at all! I also loved seeing her close bond with her dad—it's so awesome having that kind of support.

Plus, a huge shoutout to her social media team, Nadia and Amanda from Her Hype House Media (@herhypehousemedia), who came up from Miami too. I wish I had mad money to hire a hype crew like that, but for now, I'll just admire their hustle!

Bacon Buns & Stadium Dreams

As for the food? Those bacon buns are absolute magic. Sarah is part Polish and part Lithuanian, and those incredible, butter-soaked buns are a traditional recipe from her Lithuanian heritage that she wanted to share with the world. Darren was ready to buy out the entire truck just to hoard them back home!

Meeting cool creative friends in person is totally worth every single mile on the road. Sarah is 100% ready for her next chapter, and I'm rooting so hard for her dream of getting those family-recipe bacon buns into stadiums all across the US.
